    • 1. The system does not turn on and the indicator on the front panel does not work at all.
         What can I do?
    • a. Check if the power supply system is properly connected.
      b. Check the system for the input voltage from the power source.
      c. If the problem persists even after you have taken the above actions, check the power supplier and replace it with a new one if necessary.
    • 2. Some channels display just a black screen even if they receive video sources. What should I do?
    • a. Check if the camera connected to the system properly displays the image.
          Sometimes, this problem may occur on a camera that is not properly connected to the video source.
      b. Check if the camera is properly supplied with power.
      c. Sometimes, this problem may occur on a channel with weak video signal from a video distributor that is connected to multiple systems.
          In this case, input the video source of the camera directly into the DVR.
    • 3. DVR cannot find HDD. How do I solve this problem?
    • a. The power of the adapter is not enough. Please change an adapter to try.
      b. Connection problem. Please check the power cables and data cables.
      c. The HDD is damaged. Change a new one.
    • 4. Record doesn't properly work. What can I do?
    • a. Check the record mode.
      b. Check whether HDD is properly working or not.
    • 5. What type of monitor can be connected to a DVR?
    • a. There are three types of video outputs. The three types of video output connections are CVBS, VGA and HDMI.
    • 6. What does NTSC and PAL mean?
    • NTSC is an abbreviation for the National Television Standards Committee. The term "NTSC video" refers to the video standard defined by the committee, which has a specifically limited color gamut, is interlaced, and is approximately 720 x 480 pixels, and 30 frames per second (fps). This standard is used in North America.
      PAL is an abbreviation for Phase Alternating Line. This is the television display standard that is used mainly in Europe, China, Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand, the Middle East, parts of Africa, and other parts of the world. PAL uses 625 lines per frame and a frame rate of 25 frames per second.
    • 7. Can DVR send Email notifications?
    • Yes, you can set your system to email you with notification in case of system events(Disk Full/IP Conflict/Disconnect/Disk Lost etc.), sensor, motion detection, and video loss.
    • 8. Can I view the video of DVR from my smartphone like iPhone and Android?
    • Yes, you can view and monitor your cameras on your smartphone thru mobile application of Sicunet.
      You will need to download a free app called smartvision. This application is available on the iPhone and on any Android phones.
    • 9. How do I know if my hard drive is full?
    • When the hard drive in DVR is near full, DVR will automatically notify you thru on the screen. However, the Disk Full system event option must be set "ON" in order for this to happen.
    • 10. What is the default ID and password of DVR?
    • DVR's default ID is 'admin' with '1111' for password.
    • 11. What should I do when video is not displayed at all on a monitor?
    • a. Check that the monitor is turned on and video input cable is connected to the DVR correctly.
         Also, check whether the monitor cable has no defect.
      b. Check the display mode of monitor is set to the input source (HDMI or VGA) correctly.
      c. Restart DVR and check that the video is displayed on the monitor.
         If DVR is restarted, the video resolution is adjusted automatically though video resolution between DVR and monitor is not same.
      d. If you have another monitor, replace the monitor and restart DVR.
    • 12. How do I update my DVR's firmware?
    • a. Download the latest firmware to a USB memory stick.
      b. Insert the memory stick into the DVR's USB port and restart DVR.
